'PlasticUs'

installation, Doza gallery

2023

This piece confines the natural landscape in suffocating transparent plastic to highlight the
slow violence of global consumerism with its everlasting materials and their frequent
presence in waterways, criticising the notion of river as waste disposal infrastructure. The
footage shows a serene scene of moss growing on a fallen tree in the river Struma, but a detailed look into the deep blue waters uncovers a floating supermarket plastic bag, threatening freshwater life with its mere presence.
